We are proud to celebrate National Careers Week which runs from 3rd – 8th March 2025.

National Careers Week (NCW) is a one-week celebration of career guidance and free resources in education across the UK, which aims to develop awareness about future careers.

Hot on the heels of National Apprenticeship Week, National Careers Week is also a perfect opportunity to highlight the benefits of apprenticeships—not just as a pathway for young people when they leave school, but also as a valuable CPD opportunity for those already working in schools.

For school leavers taking their first career steps or a professional looking to upskill, our apprenticeships create opportunities for all to learn, grow, upskill and make a meaningful impact.

A career in education starts here
If you’re passionate about making a difference in the lives of others, we offer a pathway to a career in education. We have Sports, PE, Health and wellbeing apprenticeships starting from a Level 2 upwards, offering an opportunity to help school leavers gain valuable hands-on experience to realise if a career in education is the right sector.

For those not quite sure about teaching, an apprenticeship offers a chance to gain experience in the role within a school or community setting.  There is no upper age limit for apprenticeships. As long as you have finished year 11 and left school, you could be eligible to start an apprenticeship and develop a fulfilling career in education.

We regularly visit schools to attend careers fairs and speak at assemblies to share the benefits of an apprenticeship.

In addition, we host online information events for school leavers considering an apprenticeship.

Our next event is: Thursday 27th March: 6.00pm – 6.30pm (Add link)

Growing your career in education
Whether you’re a Teaching Assistant, LSA, SENCO, or an aspiring senior leader, apprenticeships provide an opportunity to build on previous experience and offer a practical route to personal growth to gain new skills, and qualifications while working in your current role.

Why choose an ESF apprenticeship?
Combined with a team of experienced teachers, subject leaders from primary and secondary settings and PE practitioners, plus our extensive expertise in schools and community sports settings we are well-equipped to provide valuable insights and support aspiring educators.
