In a survey completed by 8,000 National Education Union Survey (NEU) members earlier this month, 9 out of 10 teachers stated that access to learning support assistants for pupils with special needs was either non-existent or not-sufficient in their school.
One in three also said there was no access to a specialist behavioural support team while a quarter said they had no educational psychologist.
As schools face ongoing challenges and bottlenecks in SEND support – having access to highly trained TAs has never been more important.
Our Level 3 TA Apprenticeship with additional SEND Training is one way to help attract and support aspiring or existing teaching assistants. Apprentices can strengthen their skills in SEND, gain a qualification and learn while they earn. Using the Government’s apprenticeship levy means there is no cost to your school.
