As part of National Apprenticeship Week, we were pleased to take part in a welcoming an informal SME Apprenticeship Roundtable hosted at the Business Technology Centre in Stevenage.

The session brought together small businesses, ambassadors and stakeholders for an open discussion on what’s working well with apprenticeships, alongside some of the real challenges businesses face. With a small group setting, there was plenty of opportunity to listen, share experiences and ask questions, making it a genuinely valuable conversation for everyone involved.

We were delighted to be joined by Anthony Impey, National Chair of the Apprenticeship Ambassador Network (AAN), alongside local small business ambassadors and employers who are actively engaging with apprenticeships in their organisations.

The event was also attended by the Mayor of Stevenage, accompanied by Councillor Loraine Rossati, Cabinet Member for Economy, Skills, Transport and Devolution. Their presence highlighted the importance of collaboration between local government and businesses to support skills development and future talent.

Following the roundtable, Anthony Impey, visited our office for an informal discussion about us as a small business — a great opportunity to talk about our journey, ambitions and how apprenticeships can support sustainable growth.

Events like this reinforce just how powerful shared experiences can be, and how apprenticeships continue to play a key role in developing a highly skilled workforce,  supporting businesses and strengthening local economies.
