Meet Kris
Level 3 Teaching Assistant

Kris had been working as a Teaching Assistant for 8 years when she was encouraged by her Headteacher to do her Level 3 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship with ESF Apprenticeships in February 2019.

How would you describe you apprenticeship journey?

It was extremely helpful and relevant, and since passing my qualification, I have felt more confident within my role at school. I am so pleased that I did this apprenticeship, even though I had been a Teaching Assistant for eight years.

How has your tutor supported you?

I felt quite apprehensive about going back into the classroom, but I was very quickly put at ease by my tutor when I first met them. We always worked at a pace that worked for me and I never felt rushed. They were very helpful, friendly, polite and down to earth and I was quite relaxed with going back into the classroom. Alongside my apprentice, I was also supported to do my Maths and English to upskill and gain a higher qualification.

Would you recommend ESF Apprenticeships?

I would recommend this apprenticeship to any TA, whether you have been in the job for one year, 5 years or are just starting out, it is a great opportunity if you get chance to do it! It’s not only a fantastic way to get up to date training, but you have the opportunity to meet others on the course and share experiences, both with people who are just getting started in the job or people who’ve been doing the job for a while, like me.

“I felt fully supported by the tutors at ESF. We worked at a pace that worked for me and I never felt rushed.”

Kris, Teaching Assistant
