I can’t put it into words how much support James my tutor has given me. James has helped me adapt tasks to support my confidence issues and my anxiety. James is always there if I need him to support me and to make sure I finish my apprenticeship with the best possible outcome.

What are your plans when you complete your apprenticeship?
To continue my work at Etonbury Academy as a teaching assistant.

Which aspect of the apprenticeship have been the hardest?
The observations and EPA

How have you found working with primary/secondary children?
I have really enjoyed it. I went into my apprenticeship with the mindset of preferring to work with the primary students but as of September 2023 I have been working with a student in secondary and I LOVE IT! I have used my knowledge learnt from my apprenticeship to help me with both primary and secondary students.

I would recommend an apprenticeship with Educational & Sporting Futures because….
It is such a better option that A-levels or college for people like me who prefer a more hands on and creative path than sitting in a classroom. The staff and tutors are so welcoming and so supportive when it comes to the work and the training days.

Following the completion of her apprenticeship, Amber was successful in applying for a permanent Teaching Assistant position at Etonbury School, where worked and completed her apprenticeship.
Although she has left the PE department, she still leads dance🤸‍♀️ and is currently choreographing for the Dance Competitions.
